The pandemic has pushed many to watch the content on OTT platforms. In fact, many started subscribing to Netflix, Prime Video, and Hotstar which were already in the forerun. However, the lockdown has made many from Tollywood to give a thought about it to toe this path and launch their own OTT platforms.
Accordingly, mega-producer Allu Aravind has launched ‘AHA’ which is purely dedicated to streaming Telugu web series, movies, shows and etc. Apart from this, Raja Ravindra also made an announcement in similar lines. In fact, he also appealed to the cine aspirants to send their content through WhatsApp by providing mobile numbers a few months back.
However, this venture has not moved forward as ‘Megha Infra’ which is behind this proposal has backed out. The main reason for them to drop this ambitious project is ‘AHA’.
Allu Aravind seems to be the face of ‘AHA’. But it is learned that ‘My Home Group’ is the main investor in this OTT platform which is finding it tough to reap the returns.
So, it is the main reason for Megha group to drop their plans of launching another online streaming platform in Telugu.
