Director Ram Gopal Varma is back to his favorite genre of gangster movies. The gutsy filmmaker has dropped the teaser of his upcoming film ‘D Company’ on the internet. Releasing the teaser on Twitter, RGV wrote ‘D Company is not just about Dawood Ibrahim but it’s about the various people who lived and died under its shadow.’
In a statement, RGV said that this is his dream project and made this film based on his research and interactions over the last 20 years. He revealed that he was always been intrigued to tell the uniqueness of the Indian underworld and its strange and weird mix where everyone from criminals to politicians to cops to film stars were hopping into each other’s beds.’
‘D Company’ is produced by Spark Sagar of Sagar Prasad Machanuru. This film narrates the life story of notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The movie showcases how a small street-side gang emerged into one of the world’s biggest crime syndicate.
The teaser is exceptionally cut with RGV style background. And it ends with one dialogue ‘ Naa Balam Lekapothe Nee Thelivi Emchusthundhi’. Ramu kept disappointing his fans for a decade. However, the glimpses in this teaser is giving hopes that he might connect the right chord with the audience by creating magic once again on the celluloid.
If you ask RGV, he will say that D Company is going to be the mother of all the gangster films. The movie will soon hit the theatres in 2021.
