The center’s decision to privatize Visakha Steel Plant is being opposed by large section of people in Telugu states. In fact, almost all the political parties are not buying the ruling BJP Government’s idea at the center to sell off the steel factory. Even, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao also extended his support to AP people who are against the move.
Lately, Megastar Chiranjeevi also tweeted against the Vizag Steel Plant privatization. Posting a note, the actor expressed that everyone should support the movement by raising above parties and regions.
Chiru stated that the slogans of ‘Visakha Ukku… Andhrula Hakku’ are still resounding in his ears. At the same time, he revealed that they wrote these slogans on the walls as students during Narsapuram’s YNM College days. He added that they also took part in the marches, protests and hunger strikes as well to make this factory a reality.
Furthermore, he reminded that 35 people have sacrificed their lives for the steel factory including a 9 year old boy. ‘After such volatile movement, we all celebrated when the production started in the factory feeling that it was Andhrites right and pride.’ revealed the Megastar.
He expressed that it is not right to sell off the factory quoting losses without allotting captive mines. ‘I request the central government to withdraw privatization plans of Visakha Steel Plant as lakhs of people are depending on it directly and indirectly. The center should review its decision by being empathetic towards employees and workers feelings and future.’ requested Chiru.
Finally, Chiranjeevi stated that safeguarding Visakha Steel Plant is the primary responsibility of all and appealed everyone to come along with a steel resolve rising above the regions, parties and politics.
