Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will be essaying the role of former Prime Minister of India, late Indira Gandhi in an upcoming political period drama. Revealing the news, Kangana clarified that it is not a biopic and added that many prominent film personalities will be playing their part in this yet to be titled movie.
In a statement, the bold actress said ‘Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in final stages. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India.’
Kangana will produce the film and it is anticipated that the movie will feature Emergency as well as Operation Blue Star.
The film is reportedly based on a book and the actress did not reveal its name. She even shared happiness of producing this movie on her social media account by posting ‘Happy to announce my dear friend Sai Kabir and I are collaborating on a political drama. Produced by Manikarnika Films. Written and Directed by Sai Kabir,” tweeted Kangana sharing her excitement,’
Recently, she even played the role of Jayalalithaa in the movie titled ‘Thalaivi’. She wrapped up the shooting last month and it is going to be her next release.
