‘Drishyam’, originally made in Malayalam starring Mohan Lal and Meena in the lead roles was remade in several Indian languages. Director Jeethu Joseph is the man behind this stupendous family thriller. Victory Venkatesh played the main lead in its Telugu remake while it was remade in Tamil and Kannada with Kamal Haasan and Ravi Chandran respectively.
The marvellous movie weaved with the edge of the seat screenplay and human emotions was also remade in Bollywood with Ajay Devgn and Tabbu. Recently, its sequel ‘Drishyam 2’ in Malayalam is released on Amazon Prime. It is getting rave reviews as well. Many are of the opinion that it would also have become a blockbuster if released in theatres.
However, the second part of the movie is stood up to the expectations generated by the first part. Meanwhile, there is a curiosity among many whether this will be remade in Telugu or not. Answering all the doubts and much to the delight of the Telugu audience who adore Venky as their family member, director Jeethu Joseph clarified that Drishyam 2 Telugu remake is on.
As per the Instagram post, the Telugu remake will be launched in March. The Telugu version of Drishyam first part which hit the screens on 11th July 2014 was directed by Sripriya. Now, Jeethu Joseph helming Drishyam 2 will mark his foray into Tollywood.
