Marking the death anniversary of former Tamilnadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran, the makers of Thalaivi released the first look of Arvind Swami who is playing the late CM’s role. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut will be reprising former CM of the state late J Jayalalithaa.

This movie is directed by Vijay, while it is bankrolled by Vishnuvardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh. Hitesh Thakkar and Thirumal Reddy are coproducing this prestigious film. ‘Thalaivi’ is a multilingual biopic and it showcases the life of Jayalalithaa. MG Ramachandran who is famously known as MGR has mentored the actress and paved her political career.

Aravind Swami seems to have effortlessly transformed into the role of the legendary actor and politician. The dark goggled look with folded hands has immediately struck a right chord as Swami is looking perfect as MGR.

Kangana Ranaut had to put on 20 kgs weight for essaying the role of Thalaivi and she had to go through a lot to be back to herself looking slim again. Besides, practicing Bharatanatyam for the role also strained her spine as well.

Prakash Raj, Madhoo, and Bhagyashree play other important characters in the biopic which is being directed by AL Vijay.
