Telusa?: Did you know that Hitler and his Nazi regime exterminated even so called 'Aryans'? Apart from killing their own German Aryans like the mentally handicapped, old and the diseased, they exterminated a particular group of people called the Romani People. The Romani were a race of people who migrated from India between 1000 and 1500 AD. Their language has much in common with Sinhalese. These Romani are called under the familiar name 'Gypsies' all over the world. During World War II when these people were rounded for extermination Nazi anthropologists had a special task; they had find a suitable excuse to massacre these 'Aryans'. To study the issue the Nazi's even established a Racial Hygiene and Demographic Biology Research Unit in 1936. After months of research and study, the department issued that since these Romani people had interbred with various other races after migration, they were racially impure and, thus, were a threat to 'Aryan purity'. Between 200,000 and 500,000 of these people were exterminated during the Nazi regime. A very interesting fact is that not all these people migrated out of India. Some stayed behind and today they are called by the name Banjaras in India. Many Banjaras have settled in Andhra Pradesh and we can find them everywhere today. The Romani live all across the world today. Most of them have settled in Central and Eastern Europe, Hungary, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, France, Finland, Sweden, UK, North America, South America and the Middle East. Some still remain gypsies and roam around the countryside. |

Hitler might have been biased to Indians due to the widespread notion that Indians are Aryans. Is that the reason why Subhash Chandra Bose was entertained by the Nazi regime? May be... | August 28, 2008 07:52 |
